Songwriter/Storyteller live stream series: Jacob Mahon

November 29, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Duluth singer/songwriter and New Salty Dog frontman Jacob Mahon will discuss his quirky, off-beat Americana songwriting, tell stories from his life in music and play songs from his latest release on the next “Live From The Heart” songwriters/storytellers live stream series. The on-line only event begins at 7:30 pm Monday, Nov. 29 on the Sacred Heart YouTube channel. Jason Wussow of Wussow’s Concert Cafe will host.

According to his Bandcamp page, Jacob writes wordy songs about old people, and other people and occasionally himself. Influences such as Blind Reverend Gary Davis and Elizabeth Cotten add an old-timey feel to Jacob’s guitar playing which, when paired with his unconventional vocal style, yield a unique sound. He performs regularly with his band New Salty Dog, which released the album “Pecan, Pecon” in 2020.
