DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the season with Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter Katy Vernon and the Two Harbors Ukulele Group as they perform an evening of Christmas carols\, holiday jingles\, sing-a-longs and lots of jolly merriment. \nDon’t miss this one-time-only\, holiday spectacular on the beautiful Sacred Heart altar stage at 7 pm Saturday\, Dec. 9. \nOne of the Twin Cities most beloved folk artists\, Katy Vernon was born and raised in London\, UK but in the past dozen or so years has established herself as one of the busiest musicians in Minnesota.  \nShe has won the Eric Stokes songwriting award and was also a finalist in the New song contest at Kerrville Folk Festival. She has appeared at Festivals in the Midwest and UK\, such as the Ukulele Festival of Great Britain\, The Grand Northern Ukulele Festival\, Taste Of Minnesota\, Stars of the North\, Big Turn Fest\, and Hazelfest. \nFormed in 2010\, the Two Harbors Ukulele Group (or THUG) was founded by Al Anderson with the mission to serve the community by spreading the joy of music through education and live performances. \nTHUG features multiple musicians performing on a variety of instruments with one goal: Making the audience smile. \nGet your tickets now for the holiday event of the year and bring your ukes and voices! \nE-tickets will be available now for $15 HERE. DESCRIPTION:Best known for his seminal work with The Jayhawks\, Gary Louris is one of the most acclaimed musicians to come out of Minnesota’s teeming rock scene. \nOver the last three decades\, Louris has built a deeply compelling body of music whose artistry and integrity has won the loyalty of an international audience and the respect of critics and his peers.  \nDon’t miss this rare solo show on the beautiful Sacred Heart Music Center altar stage at 8pm Friday\, Dec. 16. \nConcurrent with his time in the Jayhawks\, Louris has been a charter member of the part-time alt-rock supergroup Golden Smog\, which at various times has included members of Soul Asylum\, Wilco\, the Replacements and Big Star. \nAlong the way Louris has produced records by various artists\, contributed songs to Grammy Award-winning albums by the Tedeschi/Trucks Band and The Dixie Chicks; and recorded with acts as diverse as the Black Crowes\, Counting Crows\, Uncle Tupelo\, Joe Henry\, John Hiatt\, Lucinda Williams\, Roger McGuinn\, Maria McKee\, Nickel Creek\, Carrie Rodriguez\, Tift Merritt and the Wallflowers. \nLouris released his second solo album\, Jump For Joy\, in 2021. \nIron Range rock duo Rich Mattson and Germaine Gemberling open. \nAdvance e-tickets are available now for $30 HERE.
