DESCRIPTION:After five years in the making\, Nicholas David is celebrating his first vinyl release: “More Than Music” with a 7:30 pm concert Friday\, Dec. 12 on the beautiful Sacred Heart altar stage. \nThe St. Paul-based singer/songwriter has been making music “from the heart for the heart” for nearly 30 years. Like the mighty Mississippi River\, David’s musical journey follows a cosmic current that’s taken him coast-to-coast and across the pond. From NBC’s “The Voice” where he met Bill Withers\, sang with Smokey Robinson and took home third place honors\, to riding along the rock and roll highway with the Allman Brothers’ sons! \nCome celebrate an evening where dreams and reality mix into music. \nDuluth’s own Teague Alexy opens the evening with his unique brand of storytelling and song. \nAdvance e-tickets will go on sale for $20 (plus $3.18 in service fees) on Eventbrite HERE at 10 a.m. Thursday\, Oct. 9. Paper tickets will be available at Globe News in Superior (cash only) and Zenith Bookstore in West Duluth (plus $1 service fee). Tickets will be available at the door for $25 while supply lasts. Doors at 6:30. Music at 7:30.

SUMMARY:Willowgreen and Eira: "Winter Solstice Fire"
DESCRIPTION:Duluth-based Eira and Willowgreen will perform “Winter Solstice Fire: Music for the Winter Seasons” with a special guest appearance by harpist\, Mary Hagen for a memorial/tribute to Willowgreen’s longtime harpist Georganne Hunter. \nThis special holiday concert will be held at 2 pm Sunday\, Dec. 21 on the beautiful Sacred Heart altar stage. \nWillowgreen  has been at the forefront of Celtic music and a Northland favorite for 40 years. Their Holiday concerts are a “must-see” in Duluth and especially at Sacred Heart Music Center.  \nEira (pronounced “era” in North America) features Willowgreen members Jim Ofsthun\, Sue Spencer\, Liesel Wilson and Bridget Spencer. The group performs music from Scotland\, Ireland\, Newfoundland\, Canada\, Wales\, China\, Scandinavia and the United States. Instrumentation includes  fiddle\, erhu\, guitars\, bodhrán\, octave mandolin\, octave fiddle\, button accordion\, and whistles. \nE-tickets will be available for $15 (plus $2.85 in fees) at 10 a.m. Friday\, Oct. 31 HERE. Paper tickets will be available for $15 at Globe News in Superior (cash only) and Zenith Bookstore in West Duluth (plus $1 handling fee). Tickets will be available at the door while supply lasts for $20. Doors at 1 pm. Music at 2 pm.
