SUMMARY:Felgemaker and Friends Benefit Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Friends of the Felgemaker hosts a benefit concert\, Felgemaker and Friends\, on Sunday\, September 8 at 3:00 p.m. \nThis concert will feature music composed for organ plus a variety of other instruments and voice. It will highlight repertoire spanning more than three centuries written for organ plus trumpet\, horn\, saxophone\, violin\, flute and voice in works by Baroque\, Romantic and Modern composers. \nOf special interest is a piece written by Northshore composer William Beckstrand for organ\, voice and Native American drum. \nOrganists Velda Graham Bell\, Thomas Hamilton\, Brian Kapp\, Rachael Kresha\, Karen Hanson Sande\, and Charles Sundquist will be joined by Paula Gudmundson\, flute; Lyz Jaakola\, mezzo/percussion; Tasha Kapp\, soprano; Randy Lee\, saxophone; James Pospisil\, horn; Deborah Rausch\, horn; Earl Salemink\, trumpet; and Kristin Sande\, violin. \nAll proceeds will support the Felgemaker Organ Fund which is used to maintain the historic Felgemaker pipe organ housed at Sacred Heart Music Center. \nTickets will be available at 10 am Friday\, Aug. 2 for $20 in advance HERE. Tickets will also be available for $20 at the door while supply lasts. Student rush tickets for $5 are available at the door with a current student I.D.

DESCRIPTION:More than two dozen Twin Ports musicians will pay tribute to the Motown record label\, performing some of the biggest hits of the 20th Century at 7 pm Saturday\, Sept. 28. \nThis one-night-only concert is part of an ongoing tribute series staged at Sacred Heart Music Center twice a year. \nFOX21 anchor Dan Hanger will host. \nEach Northland artist will perform a song from the Motown catalog\, which includes classics like “Track of My Tears\,” “Higher Ground\,” and “Baby Love” written by greats like Stevie Wonder\, Marvin Gaye and Smokey Robinson. \nAll proceeds from this Duluth Does concert goes to support Sacred Heart Music Center programming and maintenance of its historic property. \nCan’t make the show?
