SUMMARY:Sara Thomsen album release
DESCRIPTION:Twin Ports singer-songwriter Sara Thomsen celebrates the release of her 10th album “Here & Gone” with a performance on the beautiful Sacred Heart altar stage beginning at 4 pm Sunday\, Feb. 1.\n \n\n\n\nThe album\, produced by Thomsen\, was recorded\, mixed and mastered by Eric Swanson at Sacred Heart. Thomsen will be joined by several local musicians who recorded on the album: Erin Aldridge on violin\, Paula Pedersen on harmony vocals\, Ryan Frane on piano\, John Thorene on bass\, and Ian Connell on drums.  \nThomsen’s 14-track album\, Here and Gone\, explores life’s brevity – the bitter and the sweet. Lyrics weave in and around the pang of memory\, the pulse of the present moment\, the tug of dreams. Grief and joy sit together like old friends on a park bench. The album walks in the meadow\, the woods\, the nation. Digs in gardens. Dips in graveyards. Perches on a branch. Tender. Tough. Alive. \nE-tickets will be available beginning at 10 a.m. Friday\, Jan. 2 on Eventbrite HERE for $28.52. Paper tickets will be available for $25 at Zenith Bookstore in West Duluth (plus $1 handing fee) and Globe News in Superior (Cash only). Tickets will be available at the door while supply lasts for $30. Doors at 3 pm. Music at 4.

SUMMARY:Gershwin! Prudence Johnson & Dan Chouinard with violinist Randy Sabien
DESCRIPTION:Twin Cities vocalist Prudence Johnson & pianist Dan Chouinard along with violinist Randy Sabien present a tribute to one of the great songwriters of the 20th Century: George Gershwin. \nThe trio will present “Gershwin!” at 7 pm Saturday\, Feb. 28 on the beautiful Sacred Heart altar stage. \nNo other composer captured the spirit and energy of 20th Century America better than George Gershwin.
