DESCRIPTION:Minnesota-native Dan Wilson is a singer\, songwriter\, musician\, producer\, and visual artist who has collaborated with some of the biggest names in popular music. \nHe will perform live\, in concert on the beautiful Sacred Heart Music Center altar stage at 7:30 pm Thursday\, Oct. 16. This concert will also be livestreamed worldwide on the Sacred Heart YouTube channel. \nWilson has earned seven Grammy Award nominations in the last 26 years\, winning honors four times. \nHis songwriting resume includes “Closing Time”\, which he wrote for his band\, Semisonic\, “Not Ready to Make Nice” (co-written with the Dixie Chicks) and “Someone like You” (co-written with Adele). He earned a 1999 Grammy nomination for “Closing Time” (Best Rock Song) and won Grammys for Song of the Year (“Not Ready to Make Nice” in 2007)\, Country Song of the Year (“White Horses” co-written with Chris Stapleton in 2024) and Best Song Written for Visual Media (“It Never Went Away” co-written with Jon Batiste for the film “American Symphony” in 2025). Wilson also won a 2012 Grammy for Album of the Year as one of the producers of Adele’s “21”. \nIn addition to being the leader of Semisonic\, Wilson has released several solo recordings\, including the 2017 release Re-Covered which also includes a 54-page book of illustrations\, session anecdotes and observations about songwriting. \nHe was also a member of the Minneapolis psychedelic rock band Trip Shakespeare. \nAs a collaborator\, Wilson has written with and produced a diverse group of artists including Adele\, Leon Bridges\, Taylor Swift\, Jon Batiste\, Phantogram\, Carol King\, The Chicks\, Pink\, Halsey\, Ricky Reed\, Chris Stapleton\, Noah Cyrus\, Dierks Bentley\, Jim James\, Ethan Gruska\, John Legend\, Mike Posner\, and many others. \nSemisonic released its 4th studio album “Little Bit of Sun” in 2023. \nSinger-songwriter\, multi-instrumentalist and producer Dave Mehling will open. \nAdvance general admission e-tickets for $35 (plus $4.19 handling fees) OR e-tickets to the YouTube Livestream feed for $20 (plus $3.18 handling fees) are available on Eventbrite HERE.
