DESCRIPTION:Duluth-based Willowgreen returns to the beautiful Sacred Heart Music Center altar stage for an afternoon St. Patrick’s Day celebration at 3 pm on Sunday\, March 17. \nScottish Celtic folk-trio Eira will open. \nWillowgreen performs traditional\, contemporary and original music from Ireland\, Newfoundland\, Scotland\, Canada\, U.S.A. and the rest of the Celtic music world. Their signature vocal style combined with instrumentation including harp\, hammered dulcimer\, bodhrán\, guitars\, button accordion\, whistles and mandolin appeals to audiences of all ages. \nEira\, featuring members of Willowgreen\, performs more instrumental pieces and includes traditional work from around the world. \nWillowgreen has performed at many festivals and concert series throughout North America\, including Milwaukee Irish Fest\, Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival\, Chicago Irish Fest\, and Irish Fair of Minnesota. \nAfter a 15 year layoff\, Willowgreen returned to performing in 2021 and has staged its memorable St. Patrick’s Day concerts at Sacred Heart since 2022.
